Curriculum Planning Support Hub 2007

In times of unprecedented change, the ANSN is building teacher and school leadership capacity in wide-ranging ways. They are helping their students become more flexible; more able to handle information in the knowledge society; more skilled in the use of new technologies; more prepared to handle changing demands and occupations during their later lives. The ANSN has created an exciting network that does exciting things for education.

As part of this important work, the ANSN is proud to introduce its latest networking initiative, the Curriculum Planning Support Hub. This Hub has been designed and developed as a partnership between the ANSN and Gavin Grift (Mulberry Hill Cluster Educator). It is designed to support educators in gaining a deep understanding of current curriculum changes and how they can be applied into their planning for classroom programs.

Gavin has led his cluster through ongoing action research on curriculum planning that has resulted in a planning process being adopted by schools within and outside of the cluster. The Office of Learning and Teaching in Victoria has embraced this initiative and is using it as a tool to support other Victorian schools in developing their curriculum.

Clusters, schools, teachers and students will benefit from being a part of this Hub for a variety of reasons:

  • Tailoring a Curriculum Planning Process that can be adopted for any level of the school and any area of the curriculum
  • An opportunity to learn from colleagues in a purpose driven learning environment
  • The provision of many curriculum planning resources, tools and ideas to assist clusters, schools, teachers and students in their work
  • The strengthening of curriculum planning through ongoing support for professional and personal growth
  • The sharing of current practice to provide meaningful feedback for continued development of ideas
  • The authentic investigation and inclusion of essential/fertile questions, online planning support, various curriculum planning models and portfolio/student led conferences
  • Actual time to plan a unit of work in a collegiate environment
  • Ongoing professional learning for staff to assist them back at school

The ANSN invites interested teachers and clusters to join this exciting Curriculum Planning Support Hub for 2007. Download the attached flyer for more information and registration details.
