Reflective Journal for Curriculum Planning Support Hub Members

After two intensive days of researching about what effective curriculum planning is, participants were asked to design a unit of work that would reflect what they had learnt. The following statements have been taken from the reflective journals individuals completed that will form part of the learning portfolio being put together to showcase hub learning.

On Tuesday 10 October 2006, ANSN held its inaugural Habits of Mind Expo in Melbourne. More than twenty schools from Victoria and interstate shared their Habits of Mind experience with the more than 200 visitors who attended the Expo. Keith Redman, Editor of ANSN E-News, interviewed Nick D'Aglas at the Expo and this ANSN Snapshot is drawn from that conversation.

In Number 1, Geoff Hood described how the Habits of Mind were introduced and embedded in the curriculum at Grovelands Primary School, in WA. In Snapshot #2 for 2007, Debra Hosking takes up the theme of the Habits, telling the story of their adoption at Broadmeadows Primary School in Victoria. This Snapshot is based on an interview in late 2006, at the ANSN Habits of Mind Expo, where Debra was a participant and presenter (see below).
